Mrs Ajimobi fetes orphanage children

Wife of the Oyo State governor, Mrs Florence Ajimobi, on Thursday, wined and dined with  children from different orphanage homes in the state, to celebrate Nigeria’s 55th Independence Day celebration, at the First Ladies Office, Secretariat, Ibadan.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mrs Ajimobi said there was the need to celebrate the nation’s anniversary so as to salute the courage of our visionary founding fathers that fought with their blood to earn us independence from the colonial masters.
She said it was necessary to show love to underpriviledged so as to carry them along with the anniversary of this great nation.
The founder of Access to Basic Medical Care Foundation, disclosed that “Despite the mounting challenges that have confronted us, Nigeria remained stronger and more united as a nation.
From overcoming and suppressing the prevalence of the military coups to the victories being recorded over Boko Haram insurgencies, and the recent defeat of the scourge of Ebola, Nigeria has demonstrated that so much can be achieved with the unity of purpose.
“I am aware of the enormous potential in all of you. In fact, our future as a nation depends on all of you here today (Thursday). As a mother, I know you have been created by the Almighty God for exploits and that is why I am here to celebrate this anniversary ceremony with you (Orphanage). On my part, I remain unwavering in providing support to charity homes and to ensure that we create an enabling environment where you will be able to actualise your potentials.”
She, therefore, commended the management of charity homes in the state, religious bodies and the Non- Governmental Organisation who have forged formidable partnerships in providing succour for the less privileged in the country just as she call on well-meaning Nigerians to see to well being of less priviledge ones in order to make life better for them.
