Wizkid grabs Grammy nominatin courtsey of Drake.

Another Nigerian artiste, Faridah
Demola-Seriki, better known as
Kah-Lo, has also been nominated
for a Grammy.
Kah-Lo, an alumna of Hofstra
University in the United States of
America, was nominated for Best
Dance Recording for the song
“Rinse & Repeat” where Riton
featured her.
The song “Rinse and repeat” was
released in 2016 and has been
streamed 5 million times on
Spotify.
It has also been played 1.5
million times on YouTube less
than a month after its release.
Although she is not widely
known in Nigeria, she enjoys a
large fan base in the United
States where she is based.
The singer, who is the daughter
of a Nigerian politician, Demola
Seriki, made the announcement
on Instagram today.
Billboard.com had on Tuesday
released the 2017 Grammy
nominations list for the Awards
Ceremony, which would hold on
February 12, 2017. It would be
aired live on CBS.
Wizkid also grabbed a
nomination courtesy of Drake‘s
2016 album, Views which was
nominated for Best Album.
The award is given to the main artist, the
featured artiste(s), the producer, the engineer
and/or mixer and the mastering engineer.
Wizkid has credit as both producer and
featured artist on Views. The singer also co-
produced and featured in the song “One
Dance” which is off the Views album.
King Sunny Ade was the first Nigerian to be
nominated for a Grammy in 1983 for his
album, Synchro System. He was re-nominated
in 1998 for his collection of Yoruba songs,
Odu.
Femi Kuti has also been nominated for a
Grammy award four times. He was nominated
in 2010, 2012, 2013 and 2014 but did not win
any.
Other Nigerian artistes who have also been
nominated include Tyler Okonma, Tiwa Savage, and Chimamanda Adiche.
